THEATRE

The first huge and colossal building you face as entering into Perge City. The stage has been destroyed. The front part is 25 meters high, and it was for 15.000 spectators.

STADIUM

It covers an area of 234 by 36.5 meters in the shape of an horse-shoe, (background). Northern part had been used as an arena, and southern part as a stadium.

MEDUSA

The stage of the theatre is adorned with marble friezes. One of them is seen in the picture.

The sitting places of the theatre have almost been preserved up to now and their restoration is being continued. One can easily step on land at the back. Behind the stage there used to be shops.

THE SEATS OF THE STADIUM

There were stone steps downward on the slope as seen in the picture for the spectators of both Stadium and Arena, and small rooms were built in order to be used as an inn under those stairs.
